One of the best ways to practice argumentation--which is a great deal of the reading and writing and speaking you're going to do in this class--is to start out by questioning some of our basic assumptions. More importantly, we're going to be called upon to defend your position, explaining a few key ideas: what you mean by X, what examples of X do you have, and why do you think X is correct?
